Two geezerhood by and by, the chemic group released their showtime full-length recording, Sventevith, which standard favourable reviews by the metal subway press. For 1996's Grom, Behemoth widened their musical vision by experimenting with acoustic guitars, synthesizers, and female vocalists, simply all the spell retained their brutal, extreme metal sound; leading to the group's inauguration full-on turn of Europe. 1997's three-track make-do EP, Bewitching the Pomerania, proved to be the number 1 recording to feature film drummer Inferno, public Health Organization would before long become a driving strength (and lasting fixture) in Behemoth. Their fifth release boilers suit, Pandemonic Incantations, was issued a yr by and by in 1998, as Behemoth continued to average at least ane batting order change per outlet. Behemoth's last release as a trio (and outset for new label Avantgarde), 1999's Satanica, continued to inflate the group's following among the black metal hoi polloi, as they secured encouraging slots on deuce separate tours with leading bands of the genre: Deicide and Satyricon. Behemoth's first release of the twenty-first century, 2000's Thelema.6, saw the group's lineup expand to four-spot members for the number 1 time, as newcomers Novy (freshwater bass) and Havoc (guitar) gestural on with stalwarts Nergal and Inferno. The album proved to be the number 1 of the group's career to receive world-wide distribution (issued in the U.S. a yr after its initial release), and too featured Nergal collaborating lyrically with outsider Krzysztof Azarewicz. Behemoth embarked on their most material go even, playing shows alongside the likes of Morbid Angel and Nile, and even launched a few headlining tours on their own. Appreciation: The World's Most Dangerous Guitarist
Hiram Bullock was funky, jazzy and, according to those wHO should know, great.
On The Late Show with David Letterman this past week, Paul Shaffer paid the guitarist the highest congratulate by linking his diagnose to the "H" word. For Hendrix, Jimi Hendrix.
Shaffer and Bullock went way back. In 1982, when David Letterman launched his first nightbird show, Late Night, Shaffer hired Bullock to bet with the "World's Most Dangerous Band." As an original member of the TV getup, Bullock packed with Stevie Ray Vaughn, Sly Stone, even Andy Kaufman.

CAKE Vocalist Tells REVUE He's Trading Touring for Farming
fuels while on tour and the devaluation of recorded music are proving to be
a bad recipe for CAKE. That's why John McCrea, lead singer of the
Sacramento-based alternative rock band, is claiming he's ready to quit the
music business for a more agrarian way of life.
"I really don't believe in touring, and yet it's becoming the only
thing that I've got. I'll probably quit and become a farmer pretty soon,"
McCrea tells Editor Jen Pider in an exclusive interview this month in
REVUE, a monthly magazine that highlights entertainment in West Michigan.
The McCrea interview, which can also be found on the magazine's Website
(http://www.revuewm.com), comes in front of CAKE's appearance at the Frederik
Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids, Mich. on Thursday, June 5.
When asked to clarify his comments, McCrea told Pider: "I'm serious. I
love growing trees, and I'm a pretty good gardener. I'm thinking, pretty
seriously, about buying a chunk of land and growing things."
The June edition of REVUE also features interviews with Primus founder
Les Claypool, local indie rockers Chance Jones and other national and local
artists. The 92-page edition, the magazine's largest in years, also
features stories about local happenings in the arts, theater, film, dining
and family entertainment.
Founded in 1988 as Music Revue, the publication recently changed its
name to REVUE to reflect a broader editorial mission of covering all forms
of entertainment rather than just music. In line with the name change,
REVUE overhauled its editorial coverage and design, launched a new Website
(revuewm.com), expanded distribution and increased circulation by 67
percent.
"We intend to make REVUE a better read for West Michigan residents, and
a better branding tool for entertainment venues, artists, restaurants,
beverage companies and other consumer brands interested in reaching the
West Michigan audience," Publisher Greg Bakeman said.
About REVUE

Orb Opens iPhones - No More iTunes Jail
recordings, live TV
EMERYVILLE, Calif., May 28 -- In a major breakthrough for
iPhone and iPod touch owners, Orb Networks (http://www.orb.com) today
announced that owners of these popular Apple devices can now play all their
media -- music, recorded and live TV, downloaded and home movies, and more
-- directly from their computers. Orb's new OrbLive iPhone application
enables users to enjoy content in any video format -- downloaded BitTorrent
files, TiVo-to-Go files, DivX, Mov, MP4, even live video and TV streams.
The Apple(R) iPhone(R) or iPod(R) touch, while extremely popular, offer
a limited multi-media experience, since they are constrained by the titles
offered via iTunes. Many other less expensive phones on the market deliver
broader access to media files and formats, because they stream content and
are not tethered to iTunes. In addition, since a growing number of media
publishers are offering their titles for free, having to pay for them via
iTunes makes the iPhone and iPod touch expensive to operate, not just
expensive to buy.
"Face it, sync-ing was a good way to get your media 5 or 10 years ago.
Now it is just a way for Apple to control -- and make money on -- things
you watch and listen to," said Joe Costello, CEO of Orb Networks. "NBC
makes their shows available for free on their website, and TiVo says it is
OK to watch your recordings on your computer; why does Steve Jobs get to
decide what you watch? Before you know it, Apple is going to be like that
soup guy on Seinfeld. 'No Tivo for you!'"
With OrbLive on your iPhone or iPod touch and the free Orb Media Center
application on the PC where you have all your media, all the media from
that PC -- music, TiVo-to-Go recordings, videos and movies in any format --
are all available while you are away. Users no longer have to sync with
iTunes or wait for titles to become available. If the media can play on the
PC, it will play on the iPhone.

Cynthia Nixon - Nixon Credits Sex Movie With Coming Out Of Closet
Actress CYNTHIA NIXON credits her role in SEX AND THE CITY with giving her the confidence to come out as a lesbian.
Nixon, 42, who plays workaholic, red-headed lawyer Miranda Hobbes on the hit series-turned-feature film, opened up about her relationship with longtime partner Christine Marioni in 2004, after the pair had been dating for over a year.
And, although the actress laughed off reports she is to wed Marioni just last week (16May08), she admits her outspoken role on the hit show is responsible for much of her relationship success.
She says, "(My character has) given me more permission to speak up for myself than I used to."
Nixon has previously hailed her relationship with Marioni for helping her successfully beat breast cancer, after she revealed her struggle with the disease during a U.S. TV interview earlier this year (15Apr08).
Nixon ended her 15-year relationship to husband Danny Mozes in 2002, with whom she has two children.

Hendrix's drummer Buddy Miles dies
The drummer died at his home in Austin, Texas on Tuesday; he had suffered from congestive heart disease, according to his official website.
A teen prodigy, Miles played with such other greats as Stevie Wonder, David Bowie, Muddy Waters, Barry White, Carlos Santana and John McLaughlin, and his work is credited with developing acid jazz and funk metal.
Reuters reports that paying to tribute to Miles, his former Band of Gypsys bandmate Billy Cox described him as "an unsung musical genius".
"Jimi Hendrix no longer has to hold auditions as the right drummer has just flown in," said Cox.
The Futureheads, This Is Not The World
An intriguing recent musical trend has seen rock bands seeking out pure pop producers to spruce up their sound. Fall Out Boy's collaboration with Babyface paid dividends, while Franz Ferdinand flirted with Girls Aloud's Xenomania and Kaiser Chiefs have named Mark Ronson as helmsman on their third album. What a shame it didn't occur to The Futureheads who – on the evidence of This Is Not The World - need it more than any of them.
It's not that the Futureheads' third album is in any way bad. There won’t be a more energetic record released this year, and several of the songs are jerkily, stubbornly likeable, but no new ground is covered. It begins boldly, with the brash, Stranglers-aping, The Beginning of the Twist, one of the few tunes here to boast a truly memorable tune, as well as whiplash drums and driven bass. Other tracks, like Broke Up the Time, revisit the choppy guitars and revved harmonies of their debut, but fall victim to the law of diminishing returns.
There are highlights. Radio Heart is an obvious single, with its crunchy Jam-like guitar line and stickily addictive chorus, though clunky lyrics like "I'm a man who sits at a desk so I guess I've got nothing to lose with this request/ I want a girl who doesn’t like to dress to impress" suggest Barry Hyde picked a drunken fight with a rhyming dictionary and lost. The band's formidable tightness - evident at their terrific live shows - is showcased on both the jet-propelled, FM-friendly title track, and the metallic Sale of the Century.
But Hard to Bear is stodgy and uninspiring fare, akin to eating a full white loaf in one sitting. This Is Not the World will no doubt satisfy notoriously hardline Futureheads fans, but may struggle to recruit more.

BBC announces Grange Hill will end
At a launch for new and recurring dramas for CBBC today, it was announced the upcoming series of 'Grange Hill' would be the last.
Announcing the end of 'Grange Hill', Anne Gilchrist, Controller, CBBC, said: "Part of CBBC's reputation for reflecting contemporary Britain back to UK children has been built upon Phil Redmond's ['Grange Hill' creator] brilliantly realised idea and of course it's sad to say goodbye to such a much loved institution. The lives of children have changed a great deal since 'Grange Hill' began and we owe it to our audience to reflect this."
She continued: "We're actively seeking out new and exciting ways of bringing social realism to the CBBC audience through drama and other genres. Yesterday we announced two 'Newsround' Specials tackling divorce and knife crime and we will continue to make programmes about the ups and downs of contemporary Britain."
Jon East, Head of CBBC Drama, said: "For 30 years, Grange Hill has become a byword for realistic and contemporary children's drama. It's now time to apply what we've learned over the years to some of the new ideas we're exploring."
